Good food, good conversation at reception
Thursday (May4) evening’s reception at the O. Winston Link Museum and History Museum of Western Virginia brought out familiar faces and some new ones. The decor was enhanced by items fromboard member David Lemon’s personal collection of antique silver manufactured in Virginia and by the talents of curator Ashley Webb, who placed manikins in old-style clothing along the back wall of thehistoric passenger station that houses the museums.
Also on display were two of Lemon’s Edward Beyer paintings along with Beyer’s “Grove Hill,” 1855 oil on canvas, on loan from General James Breckinridge Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
A clown mechanical bank on display spoke to an upcoming fall exhibit that you will hear more from soon.
We appreciate all who attended.
